Riata Ranch at Brandywood focuses on tuition and mentoring young people via ranch oriented activities. The Brandywood estate offers the perfect setting for expanding Riata’s ‘Life Lessons Learned in the Saddle’ programs.  

Ranch work teaches young people to overcome hurdles and develop resourcefulness; this adversity helps shape young minds to recognize that challenges are truly opportunities to learn and grow.    

Our program is rooted in western heritage and offers teachings through doing.  Kids get the chance to work with horses, livestock and many other activities associated with a ranch lifestyle.  Respect for nature and California’s past is at the center of the program.  From learning about our Native American & Vaquero roots  to modern horsemanship— respect for our state’s multi-cultural and eclectic history is ever present in the program we developed.
