Jennifer Welch Nicholson, Executive Director of Riata Ranch International; “We are so pleased to have a location like Brandywood for Riata Ranch’s expansion into southern California. Together with Brandywood, we hope to cater to families looking for a unique bonding experience as well as supporting youth that need structure and real-world experiences to develop and mature.”
Jennifer Welch Nicholson, Executive Director of Riata Ranch International.
Riata Ranch International left an indelible ‘hoofprint’ on the pathways of many people who built remarkable bridges towards the future—their futures. ‘Life Lessons Learned in the Saddle’ turned out to become the program that provides pupils with the insights and values for life that secured their future.
The determination, the character, the humble courage and resourcefulness as an attitude that transforms obstacles and turns hurdles into chances.
The seeds of Riata’s program and operations were planted in 1957 and the humble beginnings of the early days have been capitalized into today’s diverse operations, including ranch experiences, hospitality, training, schooling, showing, entertainment, internship programs, coaching, merchandising and various non profit ventures and collaborations.
The entertainment act ‘Riata Cowboy Girls’ —the public torch bearer of what Riata represents— became an evergreen icon for the female spirit in the rodeo and western heritage entertainment industry, both domestic as internationally. Riata has performed in over 23 countries around the world, including a Diamond Jubilee performance for Queen Elizabeth II
